Abstract: This
project is developed with the aim of monitoring of the load of remotely located
transformer. This project also have feature to shift the access load to the
stand by transformer, if the load increases. Another feature of our project is
that we get the SMS upon the switching of the load from one transformer to
another. For this we have use GSM MODEM and interfaced with our controller
unit. The project also have serial ADC, 8051 based controller board, real
board, relay driver, transformer, GSM MODEM, Power supply.
Working:
The
working of the project can be describe in the following steps-

There are two transformers, one is main
transformer and another is stand by. The load is connected to main transformer
via a relay control board.

The current to load is sensed by a
current sensor circuit. This circuit compromises with current transformer.

Now the output of the current sensor is
given to the serial ADC circuit, which converts the analog input to digital
value.

This digital value is given to 8051
based controller unit, which captures the value of the ADC. The 8051 is
programmed with suitable code which regularly checks the current value.

If the value is increased with the pre
define threshold value, the 8051 based board energized the relay board and
shift the increased load to the standby transformer.

At a same time the 8051 also sends the
at command to the GSM MODEM, to send SMS to the site engineer to inform the
status of the load on the transformer.
